Chief Minister distributes ex gratia to Madina bus fire victims’ families

Revanth Reddy on Saturday handed over ex gratia cheques to the families of those who lost their lives in the Madinah bus fire mishap, at a programme held at the Telangana Secretariat. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Adviser to the Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir and Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammad Azharuddin, along with chairpersons of various corporations and senior officials from the concerned departments. Release pending overseas scholarship dues, urges BC Students’ Association

Hyderabad (Same Day): The National President of the BC Students’ Association, Thatikonda Vikram Goud, on Friday urged the Telangana government to immediately clear the pending dues under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Overseas Vidya Scheme, stating that delays in fee reimbursement and stipend payments have pushed several students studying abroad into severe financial distress. In a statement issued here, Mr. Goud said many meritorious students from the State, who had secured admissions in foreign universities under the scheme, were struggling to pay tuition fees due to prolonged delays in the release of funds. Some students, he added, were facing academic pressure and uncertainty as universities had reportedly issued fee reminders. New Delhi (Same Day): Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday mounted a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, challenging him to revoke the agreement entered into between India and the United States. Addressing party workers, Mr. Gandhi said the Prime Minister did not have the “courage” to annul the pact and dared him to do so if he believed it was in the national interest. “If you have the conviction, cancel the agreement with the United States and show the country. Hyderabad (Same Day): The validity of accreditation cards issued to journalists in Telangana has been extended till April 30, 2026, following an assurance by the State government before the Telangana High Court on Thursday. The submission was made during the hearing of a writ petition filed by the Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation (TUWJF), challenging G.O. Ms. No. 252 and the amended G.O. Ms. No. 103 relating to the issuance and regulation of media accreditation cards. The Federation contended that certain provisions introduced through the revised Government Orders adversely affected the professional functioning of journalists and curtailed access to facilities traditionally extended to accredited media personnel. Journalists Seek Parity in Cashless Health Scheme

Hyderabad (Same Day): Former Media Academy Chairman Allam Narayana on Tuesday urged the State government to extend cashless health cards to journalists on par with government employees, warning of an agitation if the demand is not met. Addressing a press conference organised by the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) at the Somajiguda Press Club, Mr. Narayana said journalists had earlier secured health card benefits after the formation of Telangana and questioned the present government’s stance on the issue. He recalled that the previous dispensation, led by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, had implemented cashless health cards for journalists through G.O. Ms. No. 64, enabling treatment at corporate hospitals. TJA Proposes Syed Ikramulla Hussaini for Rangareddy Dist. Media Accreditation Panel

Hyderabad (Same Day): The Telangana Journalists Association (TJA) has officially proposed the name of Syed Ikramulla Hussaini for appointment as a member of the Ranga Reddy District Media Accreditation Committee. The Association submitted its recommendation to Baleshwari, District Public Relations Officer. Mr. Hussaini brings with him over three decades of experience in journalism. He began his career with Eenadu in 1989-90 and later worked with Vaartha from 1996 until 2023. From 2023-24, he served as Chief Reporter for Ranga Reddy district with Andhra Prabha. He subsequently contributed to the State bureaus of Andhra Prabha, Hy TV and Vaartha. Responding to the proposal, Mr. Hussaini expressed gratitude to the TJA president Uppala Laxman and acknowledged the support extended by senior members of the Union.
