Ranga Reddy Employees’ JAC Demands PRC Implementation by June 2

Rangareddy (Same Day):
The district unit of the Telangana Government Employees Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) has called upon the State government to announce and implement the Second Pay Revision Commission (PRC) by June 2, citing prolonged delays and mounting employee grievances.

Leading the demand, TGEJAC district convenor Dr. K. Ramarao said that government employees, gazetted officers, teachers, workers, and pensioners across Telangana have been facing multiple unresolved issues for an extended period. As part of a coordinated protest, employees in various mandals, divisions, and district centres staged demonstrations during the lunch break on Friday, wearing black badges to register their dissent.

The protesters expressed concern that nearly 30 months have elapsed since the constitution of the Second PRC committee, yet its report remains pending. They urged the government to expedite the process and implement the PRC with a 51% fitment by the stipulated deadline.

Among the key demands raised were the immediate release of approximately ₹13,000 crore in pending dues across the State, and the prompt implementation of the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) to implement cashless medical treatment for employees and pensioners.

The JAC also reiterated its demand for the abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), particularly for those recruited through notifications issued prior to September 1, 2004.

Highlighting that around 15.25 lakh employees and pensioners stand to benefit, the JAC urged the government to address not only these four major demands but also resolve 64 other pending issues without delay. Failing this, the committee warned of intensified agitation in the coming days.

Later, TGEJAC representatives submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, seeking intervention to bring the employees’ concerns to the notice of the State government. Several employee leaders and representatives participated in the protest.
