Golden Jubilee Seminar of All India Small and Medium Newspapers Federation Held in New Delhi
New Delhi (Same Day): The All India Small and Medium Newspapers Federation marked its Golden Jubilee with a two-day national seminar held on November 20 and 21 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. The seminar was presided over by the Federation’s National President, Sardar Guru Singh, and witnessed the participation of editors from various small and medium newspapers across multiple states.
The inaugural session saw BJP MP from Delhi, Bansuri Swaraj, attend as the special guest. Addressing the gathering, she extended her greetings to the Federation on completing 50 years of its establishment and conveyed her best wishes to all its members. She acknowledged the crucial role played by small and medium newspapers in strengthening grassroots journalism and ensuring diverse voices in India’s media landscape.
From Telangana, a delegation comprising State President Mohammed Anwar Ali Khan, General Secretary Syed Aijaz Mohammed, senior journalist and editor of Informers Urdu Daily Mohammed Yousufuddin Qadri, senior journalist and editor of Famous City Urdu Weekly Mohammed Naseeruddin Qadri, Mohammed Akbar Ali, Maulana Hafiz Qazi Mohammed Abdur Rashid, and Qazi Hafiz Mohammed Ali, Chairman of Koswa 7 TV News Channel, participated in the seminar.
Other attendees included Syed Arif, Mohammed Suleman Ahmed Khan, reporter Syed Ilyas, Mohammed Shahiduddin Qadri, and Mohammed Saad.
The Golden Jubilee seminar featured discussions on the challenges faced by small and medium newspapers, media ethics, and the future of regional journalism in a rapidly evolving digital environment. Participants emphasised the need for policy support to strengthen independent journalism at the grassroots level.
The event concluded with a reiteration of the Federation’s commitment to uphold journalistic integrity and promote the interests of small and medium newspapers across the country.
