BC Political Front Urges Backward Classes to Contest General Seats... BC leaders Accuse Government of Undermining BC Reservation Rights
Hyderabad (Same Day): At a press conference held at the Basheerbagh Press Club on Thursday, leaders of the BC Political Front called upon Backward Classes across Telangana to “capture general seats” and assert their political representation. The meeting was organised under the theme “O BC, Wake Up… Rule Your Village”, highlighting what the leaders described as a systematic dilution of BC political rights.
BC Political Front Chairman Balgouni Bal Raj Goud, State Convenor Ailly Venkanna Goud, along with leaders S. Durgaiai Goud, Boya Gopi, Mettu Dhanraj, Ambala Narayana Goud, Yelikatte Vijay Kumar Goud and Bair Shekhar, addressed the media.
‘General seats must be secured by BCs’...
The leaders asserted that the Backward Classes, along with SC, ST and Minority communities, should contest and win general category seats as a direct counter to what they termed “upper caste dominance.” They appealed to BC voters to “teach a lesson” to parties that allegedly undermined their rights.
Criticism of Government Over G.O. 46...
The Front sharply criticised the Congress government for issuing G.O. 46, calling it “a sugar-coated knife” that harmed BC interests. They alleged that the government had delayed decisions for two years through ordinances and then reduced BC reservations in Panchayat polls to 17%, betraying earlier expectations of 42%.
‘Political burial of BCs’...
Of the 12,735 Gram Panchayats in the State, only 2,176 were allotted to BCs, which the leaders described as “a calculated move to politically weaken Backward Classes.”
They further alleged that 80 Most Backward Castes (MBCs) were denied even ward-member level opportunities.
The Front launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of “attempting to establish Reddy dominance” by reducing reservations from the earlier effective 23% to 17%.
Call for BC ministers to resign...
The BC Political Front demanded that all BC ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and corporation chairpersons from the Congress immediately resign and join the BC movement to protest what they termed “a betrayal of unprecedented scale.”
The event saw participation from several community leaders including Nagabhushanam, Goli Yadagiri Rajaka, Koyada Harshavardhan Goud, Konkisa Sachin, Singam Nageshwar Goud, Chintalabasti Anil, Bantarama Yadagiri, and Golnaka Sattaiah Goud.
