Vigilance and Enforcement Department Conducts Statewide Surprise Inspections
Hyderabad (Same Day): In a major crackdown to prevent revenue leakage and misuse of public resources, the Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) Department conducted surprise inspections across several districts in Telangana. The raids targeted rice mills, transport vehicles, and mining units, uncovering multiple irregularities and violations.
Rice Mill Raided in Siddipet District...
Acting on credible information about diversion of Custom Milled Rice (CMR), the V&E RC Puram Unit carried out a surprise inspection on October 23, 2025, at M/s MM Food Processing Parboiled Rice Mill located in Irkod village of Siddipet district. During the inspection, officials found that the rice miller had allegedly diverted around 6,674 quintals of CMR stock worth ₹1.54 crore pertaining to the Rabi season 2024–25. A report was forwarded to the District Civil Supplies authorities for initiating further action.
Route Check by Hyderabad City–I Unit...
The V&E Hyderabad City–I Unit, in coordination with officials from the Motor Vehicle Inspectorate (MVI), Mines Department, and Commercial Tax Department, conducted route checks between 11:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. on October 23 and 24 near Patancheru, Muthangi Toll Gate, and surrounding areas.
During the operation, 10 cases were registered under the Motor Vehicles Act for various violations such as overloading, lack of permits, and tax defaults, leading to penalties amounting to ₹5,18,600. Additionally, two cases under the Mines Act attracted penalties of ₹27,198, and two GST cases revealed tax evasion worth ₹1,82,712. The total penalty collected during the two-day drive stood at ₹7,28,510.
Checks by Karimnagar Unit...
Officials from the V&E Karimnagar Unit, along with the Road Transport Authority (RTA), carried out surprise route checks on Rajiv Highway (Karimnagar–Peddapalli road) and near Manakondur village (Karimnagar–Warangal road) during the nights of October 22 and 23. A total of 18 cases were registered under the Motor Vehicles Act, with fines amounting to ₹6.5 lakh.
Mining Violations Detected in Suryapet District...
The V&E Nalgonda Unit, in coordination with officials from the Mines and Geology Department, inspected M/s VMNR Stone Crushers (P) Ltd located at Chennapur village in Nalgonda district. Verification of site records and departmental data revealed 3,252 metric tonnes of excess stock of building stone and road metal. The company was found to have evaded seigniorage fees and other statutory payments, including permit fees and contributions to the District Mineral Foundation and State Mineral Exploration Trust. The total royalty evasion was estimated at ₹2,53,656, and a report was submitted to the Assistant Director, Mines and Geology, Suryapet, for further action.

The V&E Department reiterated its commitment to curbing revenue leakage and preventing misuse of government resources and natural assets. The Director General (V&E) urged citizens to report any information regarding irregularities or misuse of public funds to the department to strengthen transparency and accountability in governance.
