BC Reservation Bandh in Telangana Achieves Historic Success, Says Jajula
Hyderabad (Same Day): The Telangana State bandh called by the BC Joint Action Committee (BC JAC) on October 18 in demand of BC reservations was successfully executed, marking a historic victory for the community since the formation of Telangana, according to BC Welfare Association National President and BC JAC Working Chairman, Jajula Srinivas Goud.
Addressing a press conference held at the Arts College, Osmania University, Srinivas Goud, along with leaders from various BC organizations, said the bandh was only a “trailer” of the larger struggle to come. “The BC movement will continue until the BC reservations bill is constitutionally enacted. The central and state governments must respond immediately and initiate the constitutional process for BC reservations,” he urged.
He further stated that after the Diwali festival, BC JAC would convene a meeting to announce future protest and movement strategies.
Srinivas Goud extended his gratitude to all political parties, social movements, public organizations, media houses, educational institutions, and business communities that supported the bandh directly or indirectly, including Congress, BJP, BRS, TJS, CPI, CPM, CPI(ML) Naxalbari, MRP, Mala Mahanadu, Sevalal Sena, Adivasi Sangham, Aam Aadmi Party, Arunoday, Maoist Party, Shiv Sena, OU Student JAC, employees and teachers’ unions, BC employees’ associations, Telangana Rajyadhikara Party, Telangana Jagruthi, BC Lawyers’ JAC, Man Alochana Sadhana Samiti, BC Intellectual Forum, AP BC Welfare Association, BC Caste Associations’ JAC, among others.
He also congratulated BC leaders and activists from 33 districts who actively participated in the bandh, adding that their collective effort would serve as inspiration for future struggles for social justice and rights.
The press conference was attended by OU BC Student Association In-Charge Bollepalli Swami Goud, State Secretary Jajula Lingam, BC Caste Associations’ JAC Chairman Kundaram Ganesh Chari, BC Jagruthi State President K.P. Muralikrishna, BC Welfare Association State Executive President Kulkacharla Srinivas Mudiraj, BC Youth Association National President Kanakala Shyam Kurum, BC Women’s Association State President B. Mani Manjari Sagar, Gangaputra Association State President Diti Mallayya, and other BC leaders including Guduru Bhaskar Meru, Lingam Goud, and Narasimha Chari.
