Bandaru Dattatraya Visits ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Lauds Quality of Education and Healthcare Services

Former Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya visited the ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad, on Wednesday and interacted with students, faculty members, and patients.

During the visit, Dr. Shirish Kumar G. Chavan, Dean of ESIC Medical College, presented an overview of the institution’s achievements and ongoing developmental initiatives in the medical college and hospital.

Addressing the students, Shri Dattatraya appreciated the overall functioning of the institution and commended the quality of medical education being imparted. He also lauded the healthcare services extended to insured persons and their families. Stressing the importance of holistic healthcare, he advised the institution to continue AYUSH and Yoga services and suggested organizing guest lectures by eminent personalities to instill core values among students.

Later, Shri Dattatraya visited the ESIC Super Speciality Hospital, where he interacted with Smt. Balamani, a patient who recently underwent an awake craniotomy—a neurosurgical procedure performed while the patient is conscious to preserve vital brain functions such as speech and movement.

He also inspected key hospital facilities, including the Dialysis Unit, Neurosurgery Wing, Cath Lab, and Operation Theatres, and interacted with patients and their attendants to understand their experience with the treatment and services provided.

Appreciating the faculty, doctors, and healthcare personnel, Shri Dattatraya praised their commitment to delivering quality education and comprehensive medical care to the community.
