Congress government committed to people’s welfare, says Shabbir Ali
Adilabad (Same Day): Advisor to the Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Wednesday asserted that the Congress government was committed to delivering on its electoral promises while laying the foundation for the State’s long-term growth.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the Praja Palana Dinotsavam held at the Adilabad District Collectorate, Mr. Shabbir Ali said the administration had worked with urgency since assuming the office to ensure welfare reached the grassroots. “Our government’s actions, from day one, have shown that every assurance made to the people will translate into visible change,” he said.
He pointed to enhanced pensions, free bus travel for women, Indiramma housing, farm support and strengthened healthcare and education as evidence of the government’s early resolve. Under the Mahalakshmi scheme alone, women in Telangana had undertaken 2.53 crore free journeys since December 2023, saving nearly ₹88 crore, he noted.
In Adilabad district, 1.92 lakh families were receiving fortified rice, 28,640 new ration cards were issued, and over one lakh consumers benefited from free power up to 200 units a month. Housing remained a key focus, with over 15,000 units sanctioned for vulnerable groups, of which more than 7,500 were under construction.
The Advisor also highlighted progress in agriculture, healthcare, education, minority and tribal welfare, and rural infrastructure. Aarogyasri had supported over 25,000 patients with ₹60.89 crore spent, while 694 government schools in the district now served more than 57,000 students.
Looking ahead, Mr. Shabbir Ali said the government’s Telangana Rising 2047 roadmap envisaged transforming the State into a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and $3 trillion by 2047, while ensuring social justice remained at the core of development.
