Chief Minister’s support helps student's walk again with prosthetic limbs

Hyderabad (Same Day):
A tragic incident that had left a bright student from Warangal district battling despair has now turned into a story of resilience, thanks to the intervention of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Rahul Gundeti, a native of Pulakurthi village in Damera mandal, had been preparing for admission into the IITs. On November 2, 2024, while travelling to Kota, Rajasthan, by train for coaching, he was allegedly attacked by unidentified miscreants and pushed out of the moving train. The assault left him with the permanent loss of both legs.

Moved by the student’s plight, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that Rahul received state-of-the-art prosthetic limbs. Acting on these instructions, Rahul was admitted to NIMS, Hyderabad, where advanced prosthetic treatment costing over ₹10 lakh was arranged through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

After weeks of therapy, Rahul has now regained confidence and has begun walking again. On Tuesday, accompanied by his family members, he called on Mr. Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence to express gratitude.

The Chief Minister, patting the student on the shoulder, encouraged him to pursue his studies with determination and assured continued support in his academic journey.
