TGEJAC Slams Government Over Delay in Resolving Employee Demands
Hyderabad (Same Day): The Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) has criticised the State government for its continued inaction over long-pending employee-related issues, alleging that committees are being formed merely as a means of delay without any real intent to resolve the demands.
In a statement released by Secretary-General E. Srinivasa Rao on Saturday, TGEJAC leaders expressed dissatisfaction over the government's formation of a Cabinet Sub-Committee — comprising Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar — and another committee of senior IAS officers including Naveen Mittal, Lokesh Kumar, and Krishna Aditya. "These committees appear to be an eyewash, with no substantial progress made so far," the statement read.
Despite the deadline of August 15 set by the TGEJAC, even demands that do not involve any significant financial burden remain unaddressed, the leaders said, calling it a reflection of the government's "indifferent attitude" towards employee welfare.
As a next course of action, TGEJAC has called for an emergency meeting of its State Executive Committee on Tuesday, August 19 at 2:30 PM at the TNGOs Bhavan in Nampally, Hyderabad. The meeting is expected to deliberate on future protest strategies and organisational response to the government's inaction.
TGEJAC Chairman M. Jagadishwar and Secretary-General E. Srinivasa Rao will participate in the press conference, says publicity secretary B. Shyam.
