Iran Showcases Missile Capabilities in 2025 ‘Eghterad Paydar’ Naval Exercise
Hyderabad (Same Day): The Iranian Navy successfully tested its latest missile and drone systems during the 2025 Eghterad Paydar military exercise, with the domestically-developed “Bavar 5” destroyer drone reportedly hitting its designated target with precision.
According to a press release issued by the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Hyderabad, the naval drills are part of a broader effort by the Iranian Armed Forces to demonstrate and enhance their defensive capabilities in the face of regional security challenges.
The Eghterad Paydar exercise involves the deployment of Iran’s most recent advancements in missile systems, drones, and naval defense platforms. The “Bavar 5” drone, a key feature of the drill, has been developed to operate in maritime combat scenarios, capable of long-range precision strikes.
The Iranian military maintains that these exercises are purely defensive in nature and are intended to secure the nation’s maritime borders and protect its interests in regional waters.
Officials added that such exercises also aim to reinforce Iran’s commitment to self-reliance in military technology, amid ongoing sanctions and restrictions from international entities.
The ongoing drills are being closely monitored by regional and international observers, with strategic implications for the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters.
