Hyderabad (Same Day):
Chairman of the Telangana Media Academy, K. Srinivas Reddy, on Wednesday emphasised that the field of journalism is undergoing transformative changes, particularly in the way news is gathered and disseminated in the digital age.

He was addressing the inauguration of a two-day training programme for print and electronic media journalists from Ranga Reddy district, held at the Telangana Media Academy premises in Nampally, Hyderabad.

“Technology has significantly altered news-gathering methods. With the rise of digital platforms, news now travels faster than ever before. As journalism evolves, it is imperative that media professionals receive proper training to meet the demands of the time,” Mr. Reddy said. He added that the Academy is committed to providing structured training programmes to all those who apply.

Senior journalist Govind Reddy highlighted the need for legal awareness, especially while reporting on crime. He advised journalists to thoroughly verify facts before publishing and detailed the dos and don’ts of crime reporting.

Addressing the trainees, journalist Dilip Reddy gave an in-depth explanation of the Right to Information Act, 2005, and answered several queries from participants regarding the use of RTI in investigative journalism.
