No Scarcity of Urea, Allegations Baseless: Kappati Panduranga Reddy
Rangareddy (Same Day): Dismissing reports of a urea shortage in the state as “false and misleading,” former Rangareddy District Library Corporation Chairman Kappati Panduranga Reddy on Saturday asserted that the government is ensuring timely and adequate supply of urea to farmers in coordination with the Centre.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Reddy accused leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of deliberately spreading misinformation in a bid to mislead farmers and create unrest. “There is no shortage of urea. The State Government is working closely with the Centre to ensure that all agricultural input requirements, including urea, are being met without any disruption,” he said.
He alleged that opposition leaders, unable to digest the public support for the ruling government, were resorting to baseless rumours and fear-mongering. “Certain social media platforms and sections of the electronic media are projecting a distorted narrative, showing farmers waiting in long queues for hours to obtain urea. These are exaggerated and intended to provoke public anger,” he added.
Urging farmers not to fall prey to such misinformation, Mr. Reddy advised them to visit designated distribution centres with their pattadar passbooks and Aadhaar cards to collect urea without any difficulty. He claimed that arrangements are being monitored at the constituency level to prevent inconvenience to farmers.
“The opposition only knows a grain of truth but blows it up like a mountain. Attempts to spread panic among farmers must stop,” Mr. Reddy said.
