Government Committed to Industrial Growth and Youth Employment: Sridhar Babu
Hyderabad (Same Day): Minister for IT and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu on Wednesday reiterated the Telangana Government’s firm commitment to promoting industrial growth and creating employment opportunities for the youth. Addressing representatives of various industrial associations at a high-level meeting held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, the Minister stated that the government is working with “dedicated intent” to attract new industries and support existing enterprises.
“New industries must be established, and employment must reach our youth. This is the core resolve of our government,” he said. The meeting was attended by representatives from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP), Telangana Industrialists Federation (TIF), Telangana Offset Printers Manufacturers Association (TOPMA), and Telangana Small & Medium Industries Association (TS TMA), among others.
Sridhar Babu assured industrialists that the State Government would act as a facilitator rather than an enforcer of regulations. “We do not wish to burden industries under the guise of laws. Our intent is to support and safeguard every industry operating in Telangana, particularly those in the MSME sector,” he said. He further added that the welfare of workers would also remain a priority.
The Minister underscored the government’s inclusive approach to industrial development, distinguishing it from the “unilateral methods” of the previous regime. “We welcome advice and suggestions from all stakeholders. Industries will be treated as equal partners in Telangana’s growth story,” he said.
Responding to concerns raised by industry representatives, Sridhar Babu directed officials to take necessary action to address the challenges faced by various sectors. He also briefed the participants on recent investments attracted to the State and the policy measures being implemented to boost the industrial ecosystem.
Highlighting achievements under the current administration, the Minister said that Telangana has attracted investments worth over ₹3 lakh crore in the past one-and-a-half years, resulting in the creation of over one lakh private sector jobs. He dismissed allegations by opposition parties that industries were leaving the State as “false propaganda.”
The meeting was attended by B. Janak Prasad, Chairman, Telangana Minimum Wages Advisory Board; Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary (IT and Industries); Dana Kishore, Principal Secretary (Labour); and Nikhil Chakravarthy, Director, Department of Industries, along with several industrialists and association representatives.
