TG Urdu Academy Chief Raps Poor State of Khammam Urdu Bhavan

Khammam (Same Day): President of the Telangana Urdu Academy, Taher Bin Hamdan, on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the poor condition of the Urdu Bhavan in Khammam, particularly the Shadikhana, during an inspection visit. Accompanied by Academy officials and local administrative officers, Hamdan noted signs of neglect and disrepair across the premises. The delegation included Assistant Director V. Krishna, Superintendents Shaik Ismail and P. Athavulla Khan, and Rajjab Ali. They were joined by District Minorities Welfare Officer Dr. B. Purondhar, Tahsildar D. Saidulu, and Executive Engineer Krishna Lal. Calling the Urdu Bhavan a vital cultural centre for the community, Hamdan said its current state was “unacceptable” and called for immediate restoration work. “There is an urgent need to begin repairs, especially to the Shadikhana, to prevent further structural deterioration,” he said.

Officials from the district administration assured the visiting delegation that necessary steps would be taken under the Minorities Welfare Department’s infrastructure development programme.
