Revanth Reddy Government Farmer-Friendly, Says Shabbir Ali

Kamareddy (Same Day): Senior Congress leader and Advisor to the Telangana Government, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, on Thursday said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is leading a truly farmer-centric administration, with an emphasis on prompt welfare delivery and grassroots empowerment. Addressing a large gathering of Congress workers at the Balaji Function Hall in Machareddy mandal of Kamareddy district, Mr. Shabbir Ali said the Congress government had demonstrated its commitment to farmers by disbursing ₹9,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme within just nine days of its implementation. “This is a government of action, not just assurances,” he said, adding that 3,500 Indiramma houses were being constructed in Kamareddy for the homeless poor. Responding to allegations by the BJP on the quality of rice distributed through the Public Distribution System, Shabbir Ali maintained that the Congress government was providing premium-quality rice, and challenged the BJP to name a state under its rule where similar standards were maintained. He accused the BJP of spreading misinformation and engaging in divisive politics without contributing to Telangana’s development. Calling for internal unity within the Congress, Shabbir Ali urged workers to rise above factionalism and focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level in view of the upcoming local body elections. “Party workers who toiled for the victory of Congress will be entrusted with greater responsibilities. The formation of village, mandal, and block-level committees will be carried out as per AICC directives,” he said.

He also highlighted the Bhu Bharati initiative for resolving land-related issues of farmers, and criticised the previous BRS government for alleged irregularities in housing schemes.

AICC Secretary Vishnunadhan, also present at the meeting, lauded the Revanth Reddy-led government for conducting a caste census, calling it a progressive step that the Centre had failed to take. Recalling welfare measures introduced during the UPA regime—such as MNREGA, the Food Security Act, and large-scale loan waivers. Vishnunadhan accused the BJP-led Centre of failing farmers and pushing divisive narratives. “Over 700 farmers lost their lives during the agitation against the three farm laws. People across the country are now beginning to see through the BJP’s hollow promises,” he said, urging Congress workers to take forward the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' campaign.

Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar stressed the need for discipline and inclusiveness within the party. “There should be no discrimination between new and old members. Everyone who has worked sincerely will be recognised,” he said. Warning against attempts to create discord over trivial matters, Shetkar said such behaviour would not be tolerated and could result in disciplinary action. He reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to equitable housing distribution and said that party unity was essential for retaining power in future elections.

The meeting was attended by Kamareddy district-level office bearers, mandal and village presidents, former public representatives, and key functionaries from various Congress-affiliated wings.
