Roundtable conference to Focus on Ecology, Democracy and Economy in Hyderabad


Hyderabad (Same Day):
Amid growing concerns over environmental degradation and weakening democratic institutions, a roundtable discussion on “Ecology, Democracy & Economy” will be held in Hyderabad on January 31.

The discussion, scheduled from 11 am to 1 pm, will bring together activists, journalists and concerned citizens to deliberate on how the deterioration of ecology and democracy is adversely affecting society, governance and the economy.

Prominent social activist and Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Prof. Sandeep Pandey will be a key speaker at the event. Ms. Meenakshi Natarajan, former MP and AICC in-charge of Telangana, is also expected to participate, subject to confirmation. Senior journalist Mir Shahid Saleem from Kashmir will share insights on democratic challenges and ground realities, while several activists and media professionals are likely to join the discussion.

Organisers said the roundtable aims to encourage informed dialogue on sustainable development, democratic accountability and inclusive economic policies at a time of multiple crises.

The event will be held at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Resource Centre, Samrat Commercial Complex, fourth floor, opposite A.G. Office, Lakdikapool, Hyderabad, which also houses the office of the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI), Hyderabad.
