Hyderabad police assure women of swift action against harassment

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar on Monday called upon women and girls to report incidents of harassment without fear, assuring them of prompt and decisive police action. He said the city police remained fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of women.

Stressing that harassment of women would not be tolerated, the Commissioner warned that strict legal action would be taken against offenders. He also assured victims that their identities and personal details would be kept strictly confidential.

Mr. Sajjanar urged women facing harassment to immediately contact the police through WhatsApp on 9490616555 or by dialling the emergency number 100, stating that a quick response mechanism was in place to handle such complaints.

Reiterating the police department’s support, he said women should feel confident that the police stood firmly by them and encouraged them to come forward to help create a safer environment across the city.
