Errors found in over 1.18 lakh Pattadar Passbooks: AP CM CBN

Amaravati (Same Day):
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that errors were found in more than 1.18 lakh Pattadar Passbooks out of the total 22.33 lakh issued across the State, and directed officials to immediately correct the mistakes and issue fresh, error-free documents.

Speaking at a review meeting with revenue department officials, the Chief Minister said that all passbooks containing discrepancies should be set aside and replaced with accurate ones. “I have instructed the officials to keep aside all faulty passbooks and ensure that only correct and error-free passbooks are given to farmers,” he said.

Emphasising the sanctity of land records, Mr. Naidu said that once a Pattadar Passbook is issued with the State emblem, there should be no scope for errors. “If a passbook carries the official seal, it must be flawless. I am personally taking responsibility for this,” he asserted.

The Chief Minister underlined that incorrect land records could lead to disputes and hardship for farmers and landowners, and said the government was committed to restoring confidence in the revenue system through accurate and transparent documentation.

Officials present at the meeting were directed to expedite the verification process and ensure strict accountability in issuing land records.
