ACB arrests sub-registrar office employee in disproportionate assets case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested an employee of the Renigunta Sub-Registrar Office in Andhra Pradesh in a case relating to possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income.

The accused, identified as Tirumalesh, was taken into custody following simultaneous searches conducted at six locations across Tirupati and Nellore districts. During the raids, ACB officials seized documents relating to 11 properties, 1.47 kg of gold, 8.77 kg of silver and ₹15 lakh in cash.

According to officials, two bank lockers linked to the accused are yet to be opened and further seizures are expected based on their contents. The investigation is continuing to assess the total value of the assets and to verify income sources.

ACB sources said Tirumalesh had been placed under suspension in October 2025 following allegations of corruption. The case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is under way.
