Preparations reviewed ahead of Telangana Legislature session


Hyderabad (Same Day): Ahead of the forthcoming sessions of the Telangana Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council beginning on Monday, a high-level meeting was held on Sunday to review administrative and logistical arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of proceedings.

The meeting was chaired jointly by Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy and Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar at the Assembly Committee Hall. Senior officials from various departments attended the review, during which issues relating to coordination, security, finance and floor management were discussed.

Finance Department Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and other senior officers briefed the presiding officers on preparedness for the session. Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao could not attend the meeting as he was in New Delhi.

Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash, Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, Legislative Assembly Secretary Rendla Tirupati and Legislative Council Secretary V. Narasimha Charyulu were among those present.

The presiding officers emphasised the need for close coordination among departments to ensure that the Assembly and Council function without disruptions during the session.

Adding to the woes, patients are also being asked to bring their own empty bottles to collect traditional halwa-based medicines—a practice described as both inconvenient and degrading by social activists and patient families. Maulana Azad National Urdu University Invites Applications for ODL Programmes for 2025-26

Hyderabad (Same Day): Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), has invited online applications for admission to its array of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes for the academic year 2025–2026. The academic session is scheduled to commence from July–August 2025.
