RPI (A) Launches Membership Drive Marking Constitution Day

Hyderabad (Same Day)):
The Republican Party of India (Athawale) marked Constitution Day on Wednesday by launching an ambitious membership drive targeting one lakh new members. The special programme, held at Somajiguda Press Club, was attended by party leaders, cadres, and supporters from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The event was organised to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, a date officially declared as ‘Constitution Day’ by the Government of India in 2015 during the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

As part of the programme, senior party leaders discussed strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level and issued guidelines for aspiring candidates in the upcoming gram panchayat, mandal parishad, zilla parishad, and municipal elections. A large number of new leaders formally joined the party during the event.

Addressing the gathering, RPI (A) national general secretary Peram Shiva Nageshwar Rao Goud said the meeting was convened to mark the historic day when Dr. B.R. Ambedkar formally introduced the Constitution in the Indian Parliament. He added that the session also focused on district-wise membership registration, preparations for the national meeting scheduled in Delhi on December 1, and measures to further strengthen the party.

Newly inducted leader P.B.R. Goud, who was felicitated on the occasion, expressed gratitude to national and state leadership for welcoming him into the party. Sharing his experience, he said that a chance meeting with Peram Shiva Nageshwar Rao Goud eventually led him to accompany him to Delhi, where he met Union Minister Ramdas Athawale.

During the interaction, the minister encouraged him to join the RPI (A) and contribute to the upliftment of backward and weaker sections. “Inspired by his guidance, I joined the party and have since been working to support people through various service initiatives,” he said.

Goud announced that, with the support of national and state leadership, he has taken the lead in enrolling one lakh new members into the party. “I will remain available to serve the organisation and the people at all times,” he added.

The programme was attended by national leaders Peram Shiva Nageshwar Rao Goud and Prabhudas, state leaders Ravi Kumar, Ratna Prasad, Gorakh Singh, Snehalatha, Padma, Roja Rani, Shivaraju, and RPI (A) Media Coordinator & Hadhyas Media Managing Director and CEO Jagan, along with several activists and supporters.
