Muslim Samaikya Vedika Urge AP CM Chandrababu Naidu to Reinstate ‘Dulhan Scheme’

Nandyal (Same Day):
At a minority community meeting held in Nandyal on Sunday, leaders appealed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to reinstate the Dulhan Scheme, which had previously provided financial assistance to economically weaker Muslim families during the marriage of their daughters.

Syed Salahuddin, State President of the Muslim Samaikya Vedika, made the request while addressing the gathering organised under the leadership of Minority Welfare Minister N.M.D. Farooq. He said the scheme had been a major support system for poor Muslim families and its revival would bring relief to thousands of beneficiaries across the State.

Mr. Salahuddin noted that many families had depended on the scheme to ease the financial burden of wedding expenses and emphasised that its reintroduction would reaffirm the government’s commitment to minority welfare. He urged the State government to take up more targeted initiatives aimed at uplifting disadvantaged minority communities.

The meeting was attended by representatives of various Muslim organisations, local community leaders, and women’s groups, who collectively voiced their support for the restoration of the scheme.
