Excessive Water Intake May Trigger Health Complications, Say Doctors
Hyderabad (Same Day): While adequate hydration is essential for maintaining good health, medical experts caution that consuming water beyond the body’s requirement can lead to adverse effects. Doctors advise that an intake of 3–4 litres of water per day is generally sufficient for most individuals.
Health professionals warn that excessive consumption may result in the loss of essential salts through frequent urination, causing fatigue and discomfort. Over-hydration, they note, can trigger severe headaches and place undue stress on the kidneys, potentially leading to long-term complications.
Experts further explain that an abnormal drop in potassium levels may impair blood circulation, posing risks to cardiac health. They urge the public to maintain balanced hydration and consult healthcare providers if symptoms of over-hydration emerge.
