VHP Demands Encounter of Riaz for Murder of Constable Pramod

Hyderabad (Same Day): The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of police constable Pramod in Nizamabad and demanded that the accused, Riaz, be immediately neutralised in an encounter.

In a statement issued, VHP Telangana State prachar Pramukh Pagudakula Balaswamy said that the incident has shocked the entire State and exposed the deteriorating law and order situation. “When policemen themselves are unsafe while performing their duties, it raises serious questions about the State’s governance,” he said.

Riaz, a habitual offender, allegedly stabbed Constable Pramod to death while being escorted for questioning in Nizamabad. Mr. Balaswamy criticised the State Government for its “indifference” and accused it of prioritising “vote-bank politics” over public safety.

He demanded a thorough investigation into how the accused managed to obtain deadly weapons and whether he was involved in other unreported crimes. “Such individuals possess a terrorist mindset and pose a grave threat to society. The State police must act decisively and ensure that such criminals are encountered without delay,” the VHP leader asserted.

Mr. Balaswamy also expressed anguish that neither police associations nor human rights groups had condemned the killing of the constable. “When a policeman performing his duty is brutally murdered, the silence of civil society is deeply disturbing,” he remarked.

Paying tribute to the slain constable, he said Pramod had displayed exemplary courage and commitment in the line of duty. “He is a model for the entire police force,” he added.

The VHP leader urged the Telangana Government to announce ₹2 crore ex gratia for Pramod’s family and offer a government job to one of his family members.

“Encountering Riaz would be the true tribute to Constable Pramod, who laid down his life in the line of duty,” Mr. Balaswamy said, expressing prayers for the departed soul.
