AIMIM INQUILAB Party Alleges Misuse of Name in Jubilee Hills By-election Nomination
Hyderabad (Same Day): The All India Majlis-e-Inquilab-e-Millat (AIMIM-Inquilab) has lodged a formal complaint with the Returning Officer for the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, alleging that its name has been misused in the nomination papers filed by a candidate for the ongoing Telangana by-election.
In a letter addressed to the Returning Officer, Advocate Syed Taraq Quadri, President of AIMIM-Inquilab, stated that Mrs. Shaikh Rafath Jehan, wife of Mr. Ibrahimul Haq, had filed an affidavit claiming to be a candidate set up by the party. The party, however, clarified that it has not fielded any candidate in the by-election and that no authorization or signature was issued in connection with any nomination forms.
The matter was reportedly discussed in an emergency meeting held on October 20 at Quadri Cottage, Aghapura, Hyderabad, where party members unanimously resolved to lodge a complaint against the alleged misuse of the party’s name, calling it an act of forgery and cheating.
Mr. Quadri urged the Returning Officer to reject the nomination of Mrs. Shaikh Rafath Jehan during scrutiny and to initiate appropriate legal action against those involved in the alleged manipulation of the election process.
Party representatives emphasized that such incidents undermine the integrity of the electoral process and demanded that strict measures be taken to prevent recurrence of such acts in future elections.
