TJA–NUJ(I) representatives call on Governor


Hyderabad (Same Day): A delegation of the Telangana Journalists Association (TJA) and the National Union of Journalists India (NUJ(I)) met Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma at Raj Bhavan here on Saturday.

The representatives felicitated the Governor with a shawl and discussed issues concerning journalists in the State. The Governor is learnt to have responded positively during the interaction.

Those present in the delegation included former Press Council of India member and JAAP and TJA Advisory Committee chairman Uppala Laxman, NUJ(I) vice-president, TJA State working president Ukkalkar Rajender Nath, TJA president Kadiri Venkata Ramana Rao, and TJA general secretary M.R. Ghouri.

Hyderabad (Same Day): Patients visiting the Government Unani Hospital in Charminar are reportedly being compelled to purchase a majority of their prescribed medicines from private pharmacies, with activists claiming that over 60% of essential Unani medicines are unavailable at the facility. Adding to the woes, patients are also being asked to bring their own empty bottles to collect traditional halwa-based medicines—a practice described as both inconvenient and degrading by social activists and patient families. Maulana Azad National Urdu University Invites Applications for ODL Programmes for 2025-26

Hyderabad (Same Day): Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), has invited online applications for admission to its array of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes for the academic year 2025–2026. The academic session is scheduled to commence from July–August 2025. According to a notification issued by the University, the programmes on offer include postgraduate courses such as M.A. in Urdu, Hindi, English, Arabic, History, and Islamic Studies, in addition to professional programmes like MBA and B.Ed, both of which will be offered through an entrance-based admission process.
