Shivdhar Reddy to take charge as Telangana DGP on October 1
Hyderabad (Same Day): Senior IPS officer Shivdhar Reddy has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana.
A 1994-batch IPS officer, Reddy is presently serving as the Chief of Intelligence. He will formally assume charge as the State’s top cop on October 1. The official order announcing his appointment was issued on Friday by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
Reddy has had a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades in various capacities, including postings in law and order, intelligence, and administrative wings of the police. Known for his meticulous approach and professional integrity, he is expected to bring his vast experience to the new role.
His appointment comes at a crucial juncture, as the State government looks to strengthen policing and enhance public safety mechanisms.
