Protection of Waqf properties is a constitutional right, says Shahbaz Ali Khan Amjad

Hyderabad (Same Day):
Protection of Waqf properties is a right guaranteed by the Constitution, said Shahbaz Ali Khan Amjad, president of the Mahdavia Qaumi Movement.

Addressing an all-party round-table conference organised by Tamir-e-Millat at Gulshan-e-Khalil, Masab Tank, on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, he said the proposed legislation runs contrary to the Supreme Court’s judgment.

Mr. Amjad stressed that safeguarding Waqf assets is not merely a community issue but a constitutional obligation. “Minority Muslim organisations must come together on a common platform and launch a nationwide struggle for the protection of Waqf properties,” he asserted.

He urged community leaders to remain vigilant against encroachments and attempts to undermine the rights associated with Waqf institutions.
