Owaisi slams Centre over investment pact with Israel

New Delhi (Same Day):
AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday cast his vote in the Vice-Presidential election at Parliament House on Tuesday in New Delhi.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Mr. Owaisi criticised the Union government for signing a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) with Israel, alleging that the move came at a time when “Israel is overseeing genocide, ethnic cleansing and famine in Gaza.”

“It is despicable that the Modi government has gone ahead with such an agreement. The person seated next to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman believes it is ‘just and moral’ to starve Gazans. Applications for his arrest warrant are already pending before the International Criminal Court (ICC),” he said.

Mr. Owaisi asserted that extending support to what he described as a “genocidal government” could not be considered in the national interest, and urged the Centre to review its approach towards Israel.
