Madhopatti earns fame as ‘IAS Village’ of Uttar Pradesh
Sultanpur UP (Same Day): Madhopatti, a modest village in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, has earned national recognition as a cradle of civil servants. Popularly known as the “IAS Village,” it has produced more than 50 officers who have gone on to serve the country in the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Revenue Service.
The village’s tryst with the civil services began in 1914, when Mustafa became the first officer to clear the examination. Its reputation grew further when four brothers from a single family were selected for the services, a feat that captured national attention.
In an extraordinary extension of this tradition, even the daughters-in-law of the village have gone on to qualify as IAS and IPS officers, strengthening Madhopatti’s legacy.
Over the decades, the village has come to be regarded as a “UPSC factory,” inspiring generations of young aspirants across the country. Today, every household in Madhopatti nurtures the ambition of sending at least one member into the civil services, ensuring that the flame of public service continues to burn bright.
