Large-scale joining into Telangana Jagruthi from Congress, BRS ranks


Hyderabad (Same Day): Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha on Wednesday said that an end to anti-people governance in the State was possible only through the establishment of a government committed to the idea of a “Social Telangana.”

Leaders and workers from the Congress and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from Maheshwaram constituency in Ranga Reddy district formally joined Telangana Jagruthi in the presence of Ms. Kavitha at the party office in Banjara Hills.

Among those who joined were former Chairman of the Ranga Reddy District Library Committee Kappati Panduranga Reddy, senior Congress leader Andugula Satyanarayana, former BRS municipal chairman of Badangpet Corporation Bollaram Venkatrama Reddy, BRS leader Vedabhavani, former president of Kandukur Congress ST Cell Sabhavat Ganesh Nayak, former MPTC H. Undela Baburao, and Youth Wing’s former media coordinator Shivarama Krishna Reddy. Nearly 200 others also joined along with them.

Welcoming them by draping party stoles, Ms. Kavitha urged the new entrants to work like “soldiers” for the strengthening of Jagruthi. She said the organisation was committed to building a social Telangana and would continue to mobilise people across different sections of society.

Several leaders recalled their participation in the second phase of the Telangana movement and pledged to carry forward the struggle under Ms. Kavitha’s leadership.

Jagruthi leaders Naveen Chari, Archana Senapati, Kol Srinivas, Kancharla Shiva Reddy, Sampath Kumar, Ravinder Mudiraj, Bhushan Goud, Jangaiah Goud, Kiran Kumar, Yadagiri, Naveen  Goud, Amreen Sultana, and Lavanya were among those present.

Hyderabad (Same Day): Patients visiting the Government Unani Hospital in Charminar are reportedly being compelled to purchase a majority of their prescribed medicines from private pharmacies, with activists claiming that over 60% of essential Unani medicines are unavailable at the facility. Adding to the woes, patients are also being asked to bring their own empty bottles to collect traditional halwa-based medicines—a practice described as both inconvenient and degrading by social activists and patient families. Maulana Azad National Urdu University Invites Applications for ODL Programmes for 2025-26

Hyderabad (Same Day): Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), has invited online applications for admission to its array of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes for the academic year 2025–2026. The academic session is scheduled to commence from July–August 2025.
