Telangana Urdu Academy to Extend Financial Aid to Small Urdu Publications... Move follows representation by Telangana Journalists Association


Hyderabad (Same Day): In a significant development aimed at supporting minority-language Urdu media, the Telangana Urdu Academy has decided to provide financial assistance to small and medium Urdu publications across the State. The move comes following a formal representation made by members of the Telangana Journalists Association (TJA).

M.A. Sattar, a South India member of the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), and Dr. Syed Ikramullah Hussaini, President of the Greater Hyderabad Committee of TJA, submitted a memorandum to the Academy’s Assistant Secretary, V. Krishna, requesting institutional support for Small Urdu Newspapers outlets struggling with limited resources.

Following the representation, the Academy's Chairman, Taher Bin Hamdan, responded positively, expressing his commitment to the promotion of the Urdu language and the sustainability of small-scale publications of urdu language.

Welcoming the decision, Mr. Sattar and Dr. Ikramullah Hussaini conveyed their gratitude to Mr. Hamdan, stating that such initiatives would greatly contribute to the preservation and development of Urdu journalism in Telangana.

They further urged the Academy to explore more opportunities and schemes aimed at strengthening Urdu language media and creating a more inclusive platform for minority voices in the State.
