Rajiv Gandhi’s 81st Birth Anniversary to be Commemorated in Hyderabad


Hyderabad (Same Day):
The 81st birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi will be observed with a commemorative event on August 20 in Hyderabad. The programme is being jointly organised by the Urdu Journalists Association and Almi Urdu Foundation.

The event is scheduled to take place at Anmol Hall, located in front of the Old Police Commissioner’s Office at Purani Haveli, on Wednesday at 5:30 PM, according to a statement issued by the organisers.

Telangana Urdu Academy Assistant Secretary, Mr. V. Krishna, will attend the event as the chief guest. The event will be presided over by Mr. Syed Usman Rasheed, President of the Urdu Journalists Association.

Mr. Kabir Siddiqui, Chairman of the Almi Urdu Foundation, will lead the proceedings. Dr. Muhammad Taukheer Alam Rahi, South India In-charge of NCPUL (National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language), is expected to attend as a guest of honour.

Organisers stated that the programme will celebrate Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy, particularly his contributions towards youth empowerment, education, and technological advancement in India.
