Congress celebrates 79th Independence Day in Maheshwaram Constituency

The 79th Independence Day was marked with patriotic fervour in Maheshwaram Constituency on Friday, with local Congress leaders organising a commemorative event to honour the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and reaffirm their commitment to democratic values.

The event was attended by Uzma Shakir, TPCC General Secretary and Sultan Mirza, who addressed the gathering with a speech highlighting the importance of unity, secularism, and inclusive development. He urged the youth to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution and actively participate in nation-building.

Senior Congress leader Mrs. Uzma Shaker, along with Amrender Reddy and other party members, were also present at the function. The leaders paid floral tributes to national icons and unfurled the tricolour amid renditions of patriotic songs.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Uzma Shaker emphasised the need for strong grassroots leadership and reiterated the party’s commitment to social justice and empowerment of the underprivileged.

The event witnessed participation from local residents, party workers, and youth volunteers, many of whom expressed their aspirations for a progressive and equitable India.
