Minister Seethakka Appears Before Nampally Court in Covid-era Protest Case


Hyderabad (Same Day):
Telangana Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Women & Child Welfare, Danasari Anasuya, popularly known as Seethakka, appeared before the Nampally Special Court for People's Representatives on Thursday in connection with a case registered against her during a protest held amid the Covid-19 lockdown period.

The case pertains to a demonstration organised in violation of pandemic-related restrictions, during which Minister Seethakka was among the leaders booked for alleged breach of Covid-19 safety protocols.

Appearing before the court at around 10:30 a.m., the Minister submitted two sureties of ₹10,000 each as part of her bail conditions.

After brief proceedings, the court adjourned the matter to August 13 for the next hearing.

The Minister has been vocal about issues concerning the tribal population and has participated in several agitations, both prior to and after assuming ministerial responsibilities.
