Hyderabad City Police Invite Applications for 116 SPO Vacancies

Hyderabad(Same Day): The Hyderabad City Police has announced the recruitment of 116 Special Police Officers (SPOs) on a temporary basis. The enrollment drive, open only to Ex-Servicemen, Ex-Paramilitary personnel, and Retired Police officials from Telangana, aims to bolster the city’s auxiliary policing strength.

In a notification issued on Friday, officials stated that interested candidates must apply in person at the SPOs Office, CAR Headquarters, Petla burj, before 5 p.m. on August 5, 2025. Applications sent via phone or email will not be entertained, the statement clarified.

According to the eligibility criteria, Ex-Servicemen below the age of 58 as on August 1, 2025, are eligible to apply. For Ex-Paramilitary and Retired Police personnel, the upper age limit is 61 years, provided they have retired within the last two years. Applicants are also required to furnish valid residential proof of Telangana through documents such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Driving Licence.

Selected candidates will receive an honorarium of ₹26,000 per month**, though they will not be entitled to paid leave. All leave available will be without pay, the notice mentioned.

Applicants must carry both original and photocopies of the following documents: Discharge or Retirement Certificate, Aadhaar and PAN Card, Technical Trade Certificate (if applicable), a valid Driving Licence for driver posts, and three passport-sized photographs.

This recruitment comes at a time when city police are augmenting manpower for improved public safety and community policing efforts.

For further clarification, applicants have been advised to visit the enrolment office directly, as no queries will be entertained via telephone.
