CM Naidu Explores Sports and Infrastructure Partnerships During Singapore Visit

In a significant step towards enhancing Andhra Pradesh’s sports ecosystem and infrastructure development, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the Singapore Sports School, accompanied by eminent badminton coach Mr. Pullela Gopichand.

The Chief Minister held detailed discussions with the institution’s Principal, Mr. Ong Kim Soon, gaining insights into the school’s integrated high-performance sports system, which blends world-class athletic training with flexible academic curricula. The visit focused on exploring the feasibility of implementing a similar model in Andhra Pradesh to nurture budding sports talent and promote holistic athlete development.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu said, “The Singapore Sports School presents an exemplary model of how education and sports can be integrated. We are keen on replicating such systems to provide young athletes in Andhra Pradesh with the necessary infrastructure and support.”

Later in the day, Mr. Naidu held a bilateral meeting with Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon’ble Dr. Tan See Leng. The discussions centered around potential collaboration in key areas including affordable housing, renewable energy, development of data centres, and logistics infrastructure.

Mr. Naidu also extended an invitation to Dr. Tan to participate in the upcoming Visakhapatnam Investment Summit, scheduled for November. The summit aims to attract global investments and showcase Andhra Pradesh’s growing potential as an economic hub.

The Chief Minister’s Singapore visit is part of a broader initiative to forge strategic international partnerships and bring global best practices to Andhra Pradesh across sectors. During naidu's visit in Singapore Nara Lokesh and Minister Narayana were present.
