TPCC Leader Dr. Aijaz Uz Zama Embarks on Foreign Tour to Strengthen NRI Outreach
Hyderabad (Same Day): Dr. Mohammed Aijaz Uz Zama, Secretary of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) and Convener of its NRI Cell, has embarked on a foreign tour covering Gulf and Western countries, party sources confirmed on Wednesday. The visit, described by party insiders as personal and temporary, is also aimed at strengthening the Congress party’s engagement with the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) community.
Dr. Zama is expected to meet with expatriates from Telangana to discuss the party’s ongoing initiatives and developmental agenda under the Congress government in the State. Speaking before his departure, Dr. Zama said he would interact with friends, relatives, and members of the Telangana diaspora abroad. He plans to highlight the Congress-led State government's welfare programmes for farmers, minorities, and underprivileged sections, being spearheaded by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. “Since assuming office, the Congress government has been working tirelessly for the upliftment of backward communities, minority welfare, and farmer empowerment. I intend to convey this commitment to our people abroad,” he said.
The party emphasized that while the nature of Dr. Zama’s trip is personal, he will remain in touch with party activities during his stay overseas. TPCC sources expressed hope that his outreach would play a key role in bolstering the Congress party’s NRI relations. Dr. Zama is expected to return to India in the coming months and participate in forthcoming full-scale party programmes in the State.
