Sewing Machines Distributed to Minority Women Under Welfare Scheme in Tandur
Tandur, July 19 (Same Day): As part of the Telangana Government’s efforts to promote economic self-sufficiency among women from minority communities, 150 sewing machines were distributed to beneficiaries in Basheerabad Mandal, Tandur Mandal, and Tandur Municipality under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Shakti scheme.
The distribution event was presided over by Mohammed Obedullah Kothwal, Chairman of the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation (TGMFC), in the presence of Tandur MLA Manohar Reddy. Allotment orders were also handed over to the beneficiaries, marking a significant step in the State’s broader agenda of inclusive development and women empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, Obedullah Kothwal reiterated the government’s commitment to uplifting marginalised communities through targeted welfare schemes. He assured the gathering that additional sewing machines would be sanctioned in the near future to cover more beneficiaries.
Further, the Chairman announced that a Minority Community Garments Production and Training Centre would be established in the Tandur Assembly Constituency to provide structured training and employment opportunities for women in the region.
Local officials and members of the community welcomed the announcement, stating that the move would help address unemployment and enhance livelihood opportunities among economically disadvantaged women.
