P.V. Services to the Nation are Ever-Memorable: Governor Bandaru Dattatreya
Chandigarh (Same Day): Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, describing his contributions to the nation as “ever-memorable” and “pivotal in shaping modern India.” Speaking at a commemorative event held at Raj Bhavan on the occasion of the statesman’s birth anniversary, Dattatreya hailed the late Prime Minister as the architect of India’s economic reforms and a towering figure in Indian politics. “P.V. Narasimha Rao led the country through one of its most transformative periods. His bold economic reforms laid the foundation for a new India, steering the nation away from a closed economy to one that is globally integrated,” he said. The Governor also underlined Rao’s profound literary and linguistic acumen, stating that his scholarship and administrative acumen earned him a unique place in the country’s political history. “As a proud Telugu statesman, his legacy remains a matter of pride for all Telugu-speaking people,” he added. Calling upon the youth to emulate the values and vision of the former Prime Minister, Dattatreya urged them to commit themselves to nation-building and public service. “India needs young minds to walk in the path shown by leaders like P.V. Narasimha Rao, who placed national interest above all else,” he said. P.V. Narasimha Rao, who served as India’s 9th Prime Minister from 1991 to 1996, is widely credited with ushering in liberalisation policies that reshaped the Indian economy. His contributions were posthumously honoured with the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award.
